The hills above Lamphun grow tea, mostly as a third or fourth leaf plucking rather than the two-leaf-and-a-bud of higher gardens, which changes both the flavour and how the picking is done.
Three days covers a full plucking round and the processing the same day, so you see what your leaves become rather than only the picking.
Tea is a labour business and the households are small. Group size stays low for that reason.
