The Mountain of Mon Jong — Signature Journey
Tour Overview
- Duration: 4 Days / 3 Nights
- Group Size: 2–6
- Destination: Chiang Mai
- Activity Type: Signature Journey
Mon Jong is reached by a road, and the road is the journey. People who live along it will tell you that the mountain changed their lives, and they will not agree on how.
This four-day programme stays on that road and on the older footpaths above it. It visits without claiming anything. Where a story is contested, the host says so, and you hear more than one version.
The first two days are for the communities on the lower slopes: farms, a school if it is open, a family kitchen where the food is grown two hundred metres away.
The third day is the walk. It is a long climb on an old path, and at the top there is a summit and a small shrine that people have maintained for a very long time.
The last day comes back down slowly and ends with a meal before the road. Nothing here is staged, nothing is exclusive, and no individual in this community is named or profiled, because that is not ours to do.
