This is built around the weekend rather than against it. Friday afternoon you arrive and help. Saturday is the village day, and it is not yours. Sunday you leave slowly.
The point of the structure is that you see a real weekend. Sunday is the day most visitors skip, and it is the day a village is most itself — market, temple, football, family, and the long afternoon after lunch when nothing is scheduled.
Friday afternoon is work: whatever the family needs, which on a weekend eve usually means preparing for Saturday.
Saturday is yours but unstructured. Nobody will hand you an activity list. You will be fed, you will be looked after, and the day will be long.
Sunday morning is for the market, because that is where the village buys and gossip travels, and then a slow goodbye.

DAY01
Friday afternoon: arrive and help
Afternoon Travel to the village. Meet the family and settle in. Late Afternoon Help with whatever the household is preparing for the weekend. Real work, short notice. Evening Dinner together, then an early night. Night Homestay, first night. -
DAY02
Saturday: the village day, unstructured
Morning Breakfast when breakfast is ready. The day is yours to shape. Late Morning Walk around the village. Go to the market if the family is going. Do not plan; observe how a Saturday actually runs. Afternoon Rest, walk, help again if asked, or sit and talk. Long lunch, then a long afternoon. Evening Dinner, and if the family has something going on — a temple event, a visiting relative — you are included. Night Homestay, second night. -
DAY03
Sunday: market morning and departure
Morning Breakfast, then to the Sunday market with the family. This is the village buying food for the week and catching up with itself. Late Morning Pack, and take your time saying goodbye. Afternoon Return transport to Chiang Mai, arriving mid-afternoon. TBD — pickup time must be confirmed.
